Malone Fires No-Hitter
Sunday, July 19th , 2048
In a dominant outing, Dudley Malone of the Detroit Elite totally silenced the bats of the Echo Park Lakers, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the Elite' 5-0 victory, Malone faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 8 strikeouts and 4 walks.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Detroit manager Dustin Hewitt said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Jordan Calhoun told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.
"The Elite had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Malone pitched a heck of a ballgame."
To this point in the season Malone has 3 wins and 1 loss and a 2.61 ERA.
