Injury Sidelines Vicente Alou for Season
Monday, July 20th , 2048
The doctors have spoken and Vicente Alou of the Grand Forks Caterpillars didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Alou sustained his season-ending injury during the Delmarva Gallos game yesterday at The Cage. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Grand Forks medical staff reported Alou had a torn rotator cuff and would be absent from the lineup for at least 17 months.
This year Alou has earned no saves, worked 39.1 innings, fanned 30 hitters and recorded a 2.97 ERA. He has also put up a 2-2 won-lost mark.
