5-for-5 Day for Samurakami
Tuesday, June 2nd , 2048
The Yucca Valley Yellows stopped the Monroeville Yinzers by a score of 7-2 at Ballpark of Yucca Valley today, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Okakura Samurakami. The 23-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Samurakami said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Samurakami did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Yinzers.
"Not much that I can say," offered Monroeville manager Fred Leos. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Okakura Samurakami singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
This season Samurakami has hit at a .330 clip and produced 18 RBI, 2 home runs and 24 runs.
