White Walkers Best Rocketeers in Pitching Duel
|
The Buffalo White Walkers went home winners at Boeing Dome, thanks in large part to starter Jim Jordan. Jordan stifled the Seattle Rocketeers, enabling Buffalo to grab the 2-1 win. Jordan got the win, improving to 6-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Jordan allowed no runs. Kyle Collins finished the game for Buffalo and earned his 22nd save.
Buffalo got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Tetsu Matsumoto. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the White Walkers ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.
"I was a little disappointed," said Seattle manager James Walker. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Silver League-leading White Walkers have a record of 58-32.
