The Mississippi Mockingbirds got a stellar performance from pitcher Boris Milatovic, who handcuffed the San Mateo offense en route to a win, 5-0, at Magnolia Park. Milatovic got the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Milatovic allowed no runs. The loss makes the Dirty Reds 8-12.

The Mockingbirds got an important contribution from first baseman António Macías, who in the bottom of the first punched a 1-0 fastball into left-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Mockingbirds ahead, 3-0.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Mississippi manager Beau Carsten.
