Boston Patriots starter Glenn Suggett was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the St. Louis Coeur, 2-1. Suggett, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up no walks. The save went to Jeremy Gonzáles, his 1st this season.
It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Carlos Rivera, the two-time Gold Glove winner . Rivera contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Boston up, 2-1.
Afterward, Patriots manager Tyler Carter was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
The Coeur fall to 9-11 and continue to sputter in the early going.
