Had Ryan Blonke not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Blonke hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Kingfishers.

Blonke told a Pittsburgh Times reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
