Pandas Need Extra Innings to Top White Walkers, 5-4
|
Despite a great performance by Buffalo third baseman Tetsu Matsumoto, the Montana Pandas defeated the White Walkers by the score of 5-4 at Beyond the Wall. Matsumoto went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and 3 walks, while adding 2 RBI. Grant Gremel picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-2. Tim Buck was tagged with the loss. Montana is now 30-42, Buffalo 48-24.
The outcome might have been different for Montana, had it not been for Roberto Flores, the 24-year old center fielder . Flores stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put Montana up, 5-4. For the game, he was 3 for 7, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Flores told a Montana Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
