The Montana Pandas picked up a win at Beyond the Wall, knocking off the Buffalo White Walkers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Francisco Hernández played a key role in the triumph. Hernández, now 6-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Montana is now 29-41, Buffalo 47-23.
Montana used the bat of Yeow-whye Zhu to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Pandas ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
Afterward, Pandas manager Andrew Schupick was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
