Northern Lions BC Suffer 5-2 Setback
|
MSL Buckhead took on MSL Thunder Bay in front of a lively crowd.
MSL Buckhead Bowties starter Jaime López turned in a top-notch performance against the MSL Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at MLB Buckhead Ballpark. The result was a win for the Bowties, 5-2. López went 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-6.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Jesús González came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing MSL Thunder Bay pitcher Ning-qing Lok, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting MSL Buckhead on top, 3-2.
In postgame comments to the MSL Buckhead Daily, González said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
