Northern Lions BC Rally to Eke Out Win
|
MSL Panama City got a terrific game from right fielder Héctor Vargas. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to MSL Thunder Bay, 11-10. Vargas was 4 for 7 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The win belongs to Abdelkader Pruvost in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Víctor Valdéz took the loss for MSL Panama City. MSL Thunder Bay bumps their record to 16-14 with the win.
In the bottom of the 15th, Jay Bonis had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring single to left off MSL Panama City pitcher Víctor Valdéz.
"What a buzz," said Bonis after it was over.
