Battery Beat MSL Panama City, 12-11
|
Helmuth Piot was a major factor in the 12-11 MSL Charleston win over MSL Panama City. The Battery third baseman went 6 for 8 with a double and 5 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. MSL Charleston reliever Carlos Hernández was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Byron Gane. MSL Charleston has a record of 4-2.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 13th. With two out, Piot hit a curveball from Byron Gane for a run-scoring single. The Battery, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Piot said.
