Lakers Take Down Kingfishers, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the MSL Echo Park Lakers and the MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers, pitcher Connor Drake was the difference between victory and defeat. The MSL Echo Park right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Lakers win. MSL Echo Park reliever Kerry Lewis was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Will Ashley took the loss. MSL Echo Park is now 13-7, while MSL Pittsburgh is 12-8.
Juan Gonzáles was the walk-off hero for MSL Echo Park. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lakers left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Gonzáles said after the game.
