The Montana Pandas faced a tough opponent in Cleveland pitcher Eugene Phillips, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Factory of Sadness by a final score of 4-2. Phillips went 7.2 innings and allowed 4 runs. Clinton Repetto was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 4 save opportunities. The 9th-place Pandas now have a win-loss record of 25-35.
Montana used the timely hitting of Ricardo Águila to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pandas on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Águila.
