Tight Tilt Goes to Browns, 4-3
|
With first baseman Miguel Rivas leading the charge, the MSL Cleveland Browns defeated the MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 4-3, at MSL Pittsburgh Ballpark. Rivas, who is tied for 7th in the SMSL in RBI with 18, went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Tony Rodríguez, now 3-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits in 2.2 innings. Sung-jae Park nailed down his 6th save.
With MSL Cleveland leading 3-1 in the top of the fourth, Rivas hit a run-scoring single off MSL Pittsburgh hurler Carlos Vázquez. It was the 29th hit of the season for Rivas and put his team ahead, 4-1.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said MSL Pittsburgh manager Ricky Miller. "But we decided not to take it."
MSL Cleveland now has a record of 10-7 with the win.
