Big Day with Bat: Vélez 5-for-6
No matter what the MSL Long Island Lighthouse threw at him today, Júlio Vélez hit it. He easily handled Lighthouse pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Browns to a 15-7 triumph at MSL Cleveland Ballpark.

"The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.

Told of Vélez's quip, Lighthouse skipper Chad Graves said he "would take him up on that next time."

Júlio Vélez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

Vélez is hitting .305 this year with no home runs and 9 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .358, 6 walks and scored 11 times.
