The MSL Long Island Lighthouse launched their 2048 campaign with a victory over the MSL Buffalo White Walkers at MSL Long Island Ballpark. MSL Long Island second baseman Pedro Murillo was instrumental in the 7-4 win. He was 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was Sylvester Whitaker. His record is now 1-0. The left-hander went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits for the Lighthouse.

Murillo had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Wei-qian Wang, he banged a 2-run double to right, giving the Lighthouse a 6-4 lead. It was the 2nd double of the year for Murillo.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Murillo told the MSL Long Island Times.
