Big Day by Ku Ignites Rainbow Mermaids Win
The 17-9 MSL Northern Virginia win over MSL St Louis was due largely to Chi-yong Ku. The Rainbow Mermaids second baseman went 4 for 5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The 7th-place Rainbow Mermaids lifted their record to 22-26.

MSL Northern Virginia used the clutch hitting of Gregory Hartman to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Rainbow Mermaids the lead, 10-7. For the game, Hartman had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"I felt good up there," said Ku. "I saw the ball well."
