In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

The 10-6 MSL Northern Virginia win over MSL San Mateo was due in large part to Fletcher Thompson. The Rainbow Mermaids left fielder went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Getting the save was Ming Lin, his 8th.

MSL Northern Virginia took the lead in the top of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Chi-yong Ku stroked a run-scoring single to make it 6-5, Rainbow Mermaids.

"We maximized our offense today," said MSL Northern Virginia skipper Jaime Torres. "That makes everyone's life easier."

MSL Northern Virginia has a 3-game win streak, while MSL San Mateo has lost 3 in a row.
