MSL Boston Patriots starter Jorge Vásquez was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 3-1. Vásquez got the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Vásquez allowed 1 run. Juan Corona earned the save for MSL Boston, his 1st.
With runs few and far between, the Patriots had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for MSL Boston came in the bottom of the second inning, when designated hitter Ernesto Calderón delivered a run-scoring single.
