The Buffalo White Walkers got a strong performance from pitcher Jorge Santos, who stymied the Pittsburgh offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Pittsburgh Grounds. Santos picked up the win for Buffalo, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Mario Rosales nailed down his 14th save.
Buffalo used the clutch hitting of Tetsu Matsumoto to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the White Walkers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Santos told the Buffalo Chronicle.
Buffalo has now won 5 games in a row.
