Rainbow Mermaids Topple Dirty Reds, 10-5
|
With left fielder Ricardo Ortega leading the charge, the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids defeated the MSL San Mateo Dirty Reds, 10-5, at MSL Northern Virginia Ballpark. Ortega went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. MSL Northern Virginia reliever Juan Morales was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Artie Chase. MSL Northern Virginia, now 4-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
MSL Northern Virginia took a 7-5 lead on Martin Adams's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Adams hit in the bottom of the seventh, left MSL San Mateo pitcher Artie Chase shaking his head.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Adams. "And not try to do too much."
