Rainbow Mermaids Beat MSL Athletic Club KC, 9-8
In a tight contest at MSL Northern Virginia Ballpark, the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids edged the MSL Athletic Club KC U-18 by the score of 9-8. MSL Northern Virginia left fielder Ricardo Ortega, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. The Rainbow Mermaids, now 3-0, have stormed out of the gates.

The Rainbow Mermaids were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when third baseman Chi-yong Ku turned a 1-2 cutter from Jim Howell into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave MSL Northern Virginia a thrilling 9-8 win.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Ku.
