Cabrera Stars in 8-7 Leviathin Win
|
Crowds lined up early in front of MSL Nova Scotia Ballpark, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2048 USPL Mexican Summer League season. On the mound was Orlando Calderón for the visiting MSL Boston Patriots and Steven D'antonio for the hometown MSL Nova Scotia Leviathin. In a spirited contest, the Leviathin pulled out the win, defeating the Patriots by the score of 8-7. Especially impressive was Ángel Cabrera. MSL Nova Scotia reliever Steef Asmus was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Juan Sánchez took the loss.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the sixth when Cabrera hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Leviathin into the lead, 8-7.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Cabrera.
