Shockers Come Up Short at Capital Hill, 4-3
|
Capital Hill starter Eduardo Soto pitched well against the Surprise Shockers at Alouettes Ballpark. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Soto got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Soto allowed 2 runs. Domenic Blenkhorn was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 9 save opportunities.
Daniel Goodhew was 1 for 3 for Capital Hill. The 19-year old right-handed pitcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Frank Gibbons. It was his 26th RBI of the season.
Soto attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
