Shockers Score Late, Upend Warheads, 5-2
|
Spencer Sottrel was a vital contributor to the 5-2 Surprise victory over Amarillo. The Shockers catcher was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to Timmo de Jonge in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Larry Austin took the loss. Waleliano Girawheen finished the game for Surprise and earned his 4th save.
Sottrel had a critical at-bat in the top of the eighth for Surprise, coming through with a run-scoring single to put Surprise in front, 4-2.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Sottrel said.
Surprise has now won 3 in a row.
