The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople got a superb performance from pitcher José Ramos. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Franklin. The Fire won the game, 4-2. Ramos threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The Snowpeople, now 27-48, have lost 4 in a row.

The Snowpeople had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Fire going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old center fielder Michael Wright came to the plate. Wright hit a 2-run double on a 2-2 fastball from Ellesmere Island hurler José Ramos. It was Wright's 9th double of the year.

"I really like what we did out there today," Wright said after the game.
