The Detroit Elite beat the Cleveland Browns, 9-1, at Detroit Stadium. Detroit designated hitter Daniel McCoy had an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The 6th-place Elite are 25-26.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fifth when McCoy, who finished 5th in the SL in doubles with 27 in 2037, hit a 2-run single. It propelled the Elite into the lead, 3-1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said McCoy. "And not try to do too much."
