The Long Island Lighthouse got a superb performance from first baseman Mathew Mayo, but the Montana Pandas still won the game, 6-5. Mayo was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Pandas go to 20-30 with the win.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Ricardo Águila came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Long Island pitcher Yu-eh Wang, he hit a 1-0 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Montana on top, 6-5.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Águila. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
