Floundering Snowpeople Lose 8th Straight
|
The Capital Hill Interns topped the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 3-1, in M3L Low A action at The Igloo. The standout performance belonged to Capital Hill pitcher and Rancho Cordova, California, native Rod Ropp. The win was credited to Tsugiharu Miura in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Brendan Tate took the loss. Ellesmere Island now has a 8-game losing streak.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Daniel Goodhew hit a 1-1 cutter from Yasuoka Miyazaki for a 2-run single. It put Capital Hill in front, 3-1.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Capital Hill manager Bill Callahan. "It's usually not just one thing."
