Hunter Excels, But Crush Win
|
Jamie Hunter did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Hicksville Hounds from losing, 5-4, to the Flint Crush at Flint Park. Hunter went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Sergio Pérez snagged the win in relief. In 1.1 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 2-5 on the season. The victory puts Flint at 35-56.
Mauro Quijano took Wan-hua Yi deep in the bottom of the first. His 3-run home run put the Crush on top, 3-1. In all, Quijano had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I told our guys, 'Runs don't score by themselves,'" said Quijano. "You need someone to get on base and someone to drive them in."
