The Cleveland Browns powered past the Detroit Elite, 10-4, at Detroit Stadium. Qing-nian Zhai was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, to lead the charge. The Browns saw their win-loss record go to 26-23. At the same time, the Elite fell to 24-25.

Cleveland used a well-timed hit by Rick MacIlleriach to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Browns ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Cleveland manager Greg Diersing.
