Fire Fall to .500 After 5-3 Loss to Sea Dogs
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Maine Sea Dogs and Franklin Fire.
Maine picked up a win at Lawmen Ballpark, toppling the Franklin Fire, 5-3. Pitcher John Miller was one of the reasons the Sea Dogs triumphed. Miller, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs.
Maine used the bat of John Weber to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Sea Dogs ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
Miller called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
With the win, Maine upped its record to 26-26.
