With 3-1 Win, Hounds Improve to 50-32
|
The Hicksville Hounds beat the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, 3-1, at Hound Pound. Starting pitcher Jorge Gonzáles was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The winner in relief was Fernando Arroyo. He is now 5-2. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. Emery Kehler earned the save, his 20th.
Hicksville took a 3-1 lead on Kevin Mason's 14th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Mason hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Plattsburgh pitcher Victor Emondt visibly frustrated.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Mason.
The win elevated the Hounds to 50-32.
