Shockers Deal Fire 5-1 Loss
|
The Surprise Shockers picked up a win at Lawmen Ballpark, knocking off the Franklin Fire, 5-1. Starting pitcher Lesta Antamoshkin was a big reason why. Antamoshkin picked up the win for Surprise, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. The triumph puts Surprise at 24-12 for the season.
Surprise used a well-timed hit by Takechi Estribera to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Shockers ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"It was a solid team effort," said Antamoshkin after the game.
