Franklin Hot Streak Continues with 3-2 Win
|
Franklin pitcher Ted Bax did his part in helping his team beat the Maine Sea Dogs, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Bax, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The victory gives Franklin a record of 18-15.
Tied up with the Sea Dogs in the top of the fifth inning, the Fire got a boost from center fielder Theodore Daniels. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Daniels saw a 0-1 curveball from Guy Riggs and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Franklin on top, 2-0.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Maine skipper Carlos Soto.
