The Franklin Fire topped the Maine Sea Dogs, 3-1, in M3L Low A action at Sea Dogs Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Franklin pitcher Quentin Gamble. In 6.2 innings, Gamble surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The victory gives Franklin a record of 16-15.
Franklin used the timely hitting of Theodore Daniels to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fire on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Daniels told the Franklin Daily News.
