Penni gets 5 RBI, Leads Snowpeople to Win
|
In the 8-5 Ellesmere Island win over Amarillo, the impact of Basilio Penni was substantial. Penni, who is tied for 9th in the 3A- in home runs with 5, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. The loss makes Amarillo 13-18.
Penni had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 curveball from Larry Austin, he banged a 2-run double to center, giving the Snowpeople a 6-4 lead. It was the 6th double of the year for Penni.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Ellesmere Island manager Micheal Garren.
