Kingfishers Come Up Short at Long Island, 7-6
The Long Island Lighthouse trumped the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 7-6, at The Lighthouse. Long Island left fielder Jorge Napolez was terrific. He went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. Greg Hodge picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 4-4. Jacob Sinclair got credit for the save for Long Island. It was his 5th of the year.

The Lighthouse got a big at-bat from right fielder Joo-Chan Park. For the game, Park was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Long Island a 6-5 lead.

In postgame comments to the Long Island Daily, Park said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The Kingfishers, at 16-28, have lost 5 straight games.
