Colbert Helps Hounds Run Win Streak to 8
|
The Hicksville Hounds bested the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish by a score of 9-4, with third baseman Ray Colbert getting the main credit. On the day, Colbert was 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Hounds. Hicksville reliever Patrick Bryant picked up the win, raising his record to 5-1. Sebastian Brown was tagged with the loss. Hicksville has now reeled off 8 straight wins.
A critical at-bat came in the top of the eighth inning when the Hounds sent 20-year-old left fielder Kevin Mason to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a sacrifice fly, to put Hicksville on top, 6-4.
