Warheads Upend Interns, 3-0
|
The Capital Hill Interns got a superb performance from pitcher Eugene Porter. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Amarillo. The Warheads won the game, 3-0. Porter threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Jesús Sánchez, 1-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. Marc Potts recorded his 4th save for Amarillo.
Amarillo relied on the hitting of César Alaniz to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Warheads on top, 1-0. For the game, Alaniz had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Alaniz.
Capital Hill, now 4-15, continues its tough start.
