Angel Kitties Slap 7-5 Loss on Puffer Fish

Ray Reed left his imprint on the 7-5 Bethlehem win against the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish. Reed, who is tied for 5th in the SA- in triples with 3, was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. Juan Mermea snagged the win in relief. In 2.1 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 2-0 on the season. Earning his 15th save for Bethlehem was Matt Smith.
San Antonio de los Altos, Venezuela-born Ernesto Avilés came through in the clutch. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Angel Kitties trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Bethlehem on top.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Reed.
The 8th-place Angel Kitties sport a record of 26-33.
