Shady Side Beats Memphis, 6-1
|
The Shady Side Zoomies got a strong performance from pitcher Brian Folger, who stymied the Memphis offense en route to a win, 6-1, at Terriers Ballpark. Folger got the win, improving to 7-3. He allowed 9 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. Folger allowed 1 run. The win puts Shady Side at 32-26 this season.
The Zoomies got an important contribution from third baseman Daniel Abercromby, who in the bottom of the third knocked a 2-1 fastball into center for a 2-run triple. It was his 7th triple of the season and put the Zoomies ahead, 4-0.
In comments to the Shady Side Gazette, Folger insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
