Extra-Inning Win by Kingfishers Over Lakers
|
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers topped the Echo Park Lakers, 10-8, in 13 innings. Pittsburgh third baseman Alberto Zúñiga, in particular, was impressive. He was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Pittsburgh is 16-23 and Echo Park, with the loss, 20-19.
The game was all tied up in the top of the 13th, until Zúñiga delivered big-time for Pittsburgh, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Kyle Horton. The game-changing hit put the Kingfishers on top, 9-8.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Zúñiga.
