Amarillo rode a decent outing from starter Tom Smith to victory over the Maine Sea Dogs. The final score was 10-3. Smith, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Maine falls to 7-2.
With runs few and far between, the Warheads had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Amarillo came in the bottom of the first inning, when first baseman Louis Bletsoe delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Francisco Nieves and made the score 2-0, Warheads. Bletsoe went 2-5 with 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.
