Late Magic Gets Amarillo 7-3 Win
|
Amarillo first baseman Louis Bletsoe contributed to his team's 7-3 win over the Maine Sea Dogs. Bletsoe, who is rated as the 55th best prospect by BNN, went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Warheads. Amarillo reliever Gary Holbrook picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Lu Tan absorbed the loss. Marc Potts closed it out for his 3rd save.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Bill Webb came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Maine pitcher Lu Tan, he hit a 0-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Amarillo on top, 4-3.
Bletsoe told a Amarillo Observer reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
The loss drops the Sea Dogs to 7-1.
