Sea Dogs Need Extra Frames to Get Past Warheads
|
The Maine Sea Dogs picked up a win at Ballpark of Henderson, knocking off the Amarillo Warheads, 4-2. Starting pitcher Elvin Olson was a big reason why. Frank Locke came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Maine goes to 7-0.
The outcome might have been different for Maine, had it not been for Rafael Islava, the 19-year old third baseman . Islava stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put Maine up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Islava.
