Rocketeers Win, 4-3, at Cleveland
|
The Seattle Rocketeers took Cleveland pitcher Billy Ramsey's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Factory of Sadness. The final score had Seattle getting past the Browns, 4-3. Ramsey went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 6. Virgil Dickerson, the winner, improved to 3-1. He held the Browns to 1 run on 6 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Earning his 4th save for Seattle was Jeffery Clayton.
The Browns had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Rocketeers going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 34-year old second baseman Ik-jun Cho came to the plate. Cho hit a solo home run on a 3-1 knuckle curve from Cleveland hurler Billy Ramsey. It was Cho's 2nd home run of the year.
After the game, Seattle manager James Walker applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
Seattle, at 16-21, sits in 7th place in the Silver League.
