Fire Get One-Run Win at Crowley
Franklin beat Crowley at Titans Ballpark, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder Tomás Lanoin. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The winner in relief was Sergio Vázquez. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. The win puts Franklin at 2-0.

Franklin used the timely hitting of Greg Smith to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fire on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I was a little disappointed," said Crowley manager Neal Davis. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
