Baby Lakers Top Uruguayans in Extras, 5-2
|
Bompton turned a good effort from starter Quinton Lee into a win over the Germantown Uruguayans at Ballpark of Albuquerque. The final score was 5-2. Yan Velthuizen got credit for the save for Bompton. It was his 1st of the year. The last-place Uruguayans have dropped 5 straight games.
Bompton needed the clutch hitting of José Peña to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Baby Lakers on top, 5-2. For the game, Peña had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It's a mindset," said Lee. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
